JUBILANT JUBILEE LIGHTS UP COMMUNITIES

Retailers up and down the country had a weekend to remember, as party fever overcame the UK for the jubilee.

We’ve seen massive sales in the BWS category, with the nation stocking up for garden parties, street parties and barbecues. Many retailers joined in on the fun, hosting their own street parties, giving back to their communities with drinks and snacks.

There was plenty to shout about in Yorkshire, as Bobby Singh gave Pontefract a bank holiday to remember. Hosting a BB Nevison street party, Bobby brought out the bunting, costumes and fun! It’s safe to say it went down a treat, as superstar retailer Bobby ensured nothing was left out, with a local choir even delivering a live rendition of God Save the Queen outside the store.

In a time when it feels like community spirit is often lost, it was a breath of fresh air to see communities come together and spend some time as one. We are so often the glue that holds our communities together, and we prove this time and time again, and last weekend was no exception. Those retailers who hosted celebrations may see their stores become even more of a community hub, and were given a chance to obtain new regular customers, and showcase what their store is about.
